Set up an appointment by contacting us via email or by phone. You will be asked to fill out a questionnaire which will help our team to analyze the situation and to get a better understanding of the "Prodigal" so that we can come up with a plan.
We will provide you with our non-professional, non-medical, non-certified suggested plan which will be faith-based and predicated on our own personal experience with dealing with "Prodigals."
We will provide suggestions and our opinions on who to include in the intervention team. The team will usually be comprised of friends, family, and our volunteer staff. It can also include medical professionals - but this will be determined and finalized by the family or friends of the "Prodigal." Each member of the intervention team will receive suggested guidelines which will outline their responsibilities.
We will select a location to have the intervention and meet 2 hours before the actual intervention. At this time we will rehearse the intervention and also hear any objections to the plan. Once we are in agreement, you will have to sign a release of liability waiver.
Once the intervention is finished, and if successful, we will help to make arrangements for the "Prodigal" to enroll into a program of their choosing. If the intervention is not successful, we will have to go back to "Step 2," and formulate another plan and strategy. *Please note that there will be times when the plan will simply be to pray for the "Prodigal" and to simply keep in contact with them from time to time if we feel that we have exhausted all our options.
We will help escort the "Prodigal" to whichever program they have agreed to participate in. We will also assign the "Prodigal" with an "Elder Brother" who will be a point of contact to help encourage and keep the "Prodigal" accountable in finishing the program. The "Elder Brother" will also continue this role post-program as well to help increase the chances of success and to decrease the chances of relapsing.
